Introducing the 2012 Sea Princesses! ? Maine Lobster Festival ...

The Coronation of the Maine Sea Goddess is one of the highlights at the Maine Lobster Festival. ?Eighteen young women from the local midcoast area vie for the Sea Goddess crown, scholarships, and prizes. The Maine Sea Goddess represents the Maine Lobster Festival, the lobster industry, and Rockland, Maine for the year with appearances at other events and associations throughout New England. ?This year?s Sea Princesses competing for the crown are:

Brighde Curtin of Rockland is a 2012 graduate of Oceanside High School. She is the daughter of Laurie Curtin. Her school activities included Varsity Soccer, One Acts, Fall Musical, Key Club and Drama Club. Her hobbies are theater, reading, sports and community service. She is employed at the Bricks Restaurant of Rockland. Her future plans are to attend the University of Southern Maine for theater and a theater-teaching degree. Brighde?s sponsors are The Embroidery Shop, Planet Toys, Bricks Restaurant, Marge Grinnell, Michael Curtin of Rockland, and FV-Moonrise of Spruce Head.

Kaitlen Allese Cutchens of Rockland is a 2012 graduate of Oceanside High School. She is the daughter of Daniel Wayne Cutchens, and Karla Sue and Kenneth Lee Johnson. Her school activities included Talent Show, Plays and Chorus. Her hobbies are community service, singing, working and spending time with family and friends. She is employed by PenBay Medical Center. Her future plans are going to Empire Beauty School. Kaitlen?s sponsors are Airwaves Inc., James Caven and Time Out Pub.

Alexandra Dienesch-Calamari of Owls Head is a 2012 graduate of Oceanside High School. She is the daughter of George Calamari and Karen Dienesch-Calamari. Her school activities include soccer, cheerleading, honors chorus, Key Club, News Team, National Honor Society and theater.Her hobbies are camping, singing, reading and sculpture. Her future plans are to attend Stetson University and pursue a career in dentistry. Alex?s sponsor is O?Hara Corporation of Rockland.

Christina Ashley Feener of Northport is a 2012 graduate of Belfast Area High School. She is the daughter of Frank and Elaine Feener. Her future plans are nursing. Christina?s sponsors are Feener?s Tractor Service and Knight Marine Service.

Rachel Lynne Freeman of Owls Head is a 2012 graduate of Oceanside High School. She is the daughter of Scott and Diana Freeman. Her school activities included Field Hockey, Tennis, Project Graduation, Diversity Club, Yearbook, etc. Her hobbies are field hockey and tennis. Her future plans are to attend Husson University in the fall. Rachel?s sponsors are Cushing Diesel, employees of JBI of Owls Head, and N. S. Giles of Bangor.

Annie Nicole Gagn? of Rockland is a 2012 graduate of Oceanside High School. She is the daughter of Sherry Gagn? of Rockland and Patrick Gagn? of Augusta. Her school activities included National Honor Society and Yearbook Committee. Community services included Youthlinks Program, Junior Executive Board for the Hospitality House, Pen Bay Healthcare Events Volunteer and Animal Shelter Volunteer. She is employed by Clan MacLaren. Emma Mason of Owls Head is a 2012 graduate of Oceanside High School. She is the daughter of Rodney and Anna Mason. Her school activities included In and Outdoor Track, Math Team, National Honor Society, Soccer and Tiger Outreach. Her hobbies are photography, reading, running, cooking, camping, scrapbooking, volunteering, traveling, canoeing, gardening, making sea-glass jewelry, and spending time with friends and family. Her future plans are to attend the University of Maine in Orono majoring in bioengineering with a minor in pre-med. Then wants to go to medical school and become a pediatric oncologist. Emma?s sponsor is Ship to Shore Lobster Company in Owls Head.

Ashley McNeilly of Owls Head is a 2012 graduate of Oceanside High School. She is the daughter of Marc and Launa McNeilly. Her school activities included softball and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Her hobbies are lobstering, softball, piano and guitar. Her future plans are to complete her education, get financially secure and buy a house. Shani Marie Morris of Camden is a 2012 graduate of Camden Hills Regional High School. She is the daughter of Theresa Withee and Charles Weidman. Her school activities included Independent Study, Student Teaching, Field Hockey and Clay. She loves field hockey, clay, spending time with her family and friends, skiing, baking, teaching and going on walks. Her future plans are to attend the University of Maine in Orono majoring in elementary education to become a first-grade teacher. Megan Elaine Peabody of Rockport is a 2012 graduate of Camden Hills Regional High School. She is the daughter of Kimberlee Graffam and Leni Gronros, and Gary and Kim Peabody. Her school activities included Wrestling, School Musicals, Chamber Singers and International Club. Megan spent 11 months in Peru as a Rotary Youth Exchange student. Her hobbies are dancing, photography, travel, spending time with family and Interact Club. Megan?s sponsor is Graffam Bros. and Harborside Restaurant in Camden.

Amy Proulx of South Thomaston is a 2012 graduate of Oceanside High School. She is the daughter of Debby and Peter Ames and the late John Proulx. Her school activities included Yearbook, One Act Drama Competitions, Musicals and Tennis. Her hobbies are reading, photography, and spending time with friends and family. Kyla-Rae Robinson of Rockland is a 2012 graduate of Oceanside High School. She is the daughter of Scott Robinson and Tracy Thompson. Her school activities included Work-study Program volunteering with Youthlinks Leadership Program, Knox County Humane Society Monthly Dish (helping the homeless), Downeast Dog News, Tiger Pals, Knox Center for Long Term Care and Toboggan Competition (came in third place, high-school level). Her hobbies include arts and crafts, four-wheeling, camping, spending time with family, and working with the elderly, young children and animals. She is employed at Hannaford in Rockland.
