Living in a Global Village

?

The world is shrinking and we are living in a global village. With advancement in technology in the field of communication and transportation we all have come closer to each other in a virtual as well as real world. With various modes of transportation such as trains, ships and airplanes one can reach to any place in this world and similarly with various modes of communication such as telephone and internet we can communicate with anyone across the globe. But the irony of the state is that albeit we all are united by technology, we are divided by languages.

When somebody is asked to tell the number of languages in the world, he/she lets his/her mind exercise for a while and ultimately land with an answer-?many?. Indeed, there are more than 6909 languages used all over the world.

Hence it becomes difficult to communicate with each other even though we are closer to each other.

As we are now living in a global village people can no more avoid interacting with each other. This is why there is a whole load of flocks that learn languages so that they can express views to as many people as required and in as many languages as required. There are several reasons why people learn languages-

Emigration- When people migrate from one place to another, they need to learn the local language of the new place to be able to express thoughts to the local community and understand their say.

Work Demands- If someone has to meet foreign delegates often regarding his/her office work than learning the language that is understood by the foreign delegates becomes must.

Travelling- We often notice that tourists struggle to communicate with the natives.

However, now-a-days, tourists are becoming smarter and they learn the elementary local language of a state before visiting it, so that they are not befooled. Learning the local language before travelling to a place helps a lot as one can negotiate with the shopkeepers & travel agents and talk to natives to understand culture and other traditional values.

Hobby- Many people learn foreign languages just because of their hobby to learn a new language. It is said that you live an entire life when you learn a new language and if you know only one language, that means, you have lived only once.

There are plenty of other reasons why people pursue a foreign language course. These reasons might be- studying abroad, secret communication, study & research, working with machines and many more.

The natural question that arises is how to learn a foreign language with ease and economically. The answer to the question is e-learning. One can now pursue a variety of language courses from internet. There are several websites that sell teaching courses focused on specific language. One can go for it, without disturbing the existing schedule. These online language courses are most of the time very economical, timely and easy to pursue. Millions of people learn foreign language for some or the other reason. If you are looking forward to start off with a language course, than start learning today, without giving it a second thought.
