Focus on the Family Community: Relationships and Marriage: divorce

My husband does have a past wounds. As his father past away when he was thirteen, the mother was a very controlling person. She would nag him just to get things done be controlling. SO yes, he does have a past issue, which the counsel tried to work on. However, as soon as he felt better He stopped going and working on that issue.

I did read Boundaries in a marriage among many other books book after book I read to try to save my marriage but nothing seems to work.

Corinthians 7:11

However, if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. In addition, a husband must not divorce his wife. According to this, we are to stay unmarried or stay married and endure being abused.

So then, if a mate physically abuses his wife, the victim may separate. (Galatians 5:19-21; Titus 1:7) Anyone loving violence God?s soul certainly hates.??Psalm 11:5.

I might be wrong; each one of us can search the bible and find something to hold on. In all gods is a loving and forgiving father. I think he looks at each situation and each one of us will be judged differently. The bible is to guide us thru life. However, as you read it things changed from the old testimony to the new. Just like mentioned today in program. Look at the time of Moses the women would have been stoned. Yet god later changed that.

The real question thou was not answered,

How many times are we supposed to forgive someone for his or her actions? What if the person you are forgiving are so blind to the hurt they are afflicting on the one they say they love. Their lives only revolve around their feelings. We can pray and pray that god might open their eyes yet nothing. What are we to do?

The bible tells us to honor our mother and father. Yet that mother or father has abused that child is it a verbal, emotional, or physical. How many times is that child to forgive that parent? How can such a child honor that parent
